7 STRATEGIES FOR PERSONAL PROGRESS

1.   Know what you want  – Your objective

Be, Do, Have, Help.
Who you are determines what you do
What you do determines what you have
What you have determines who you can help and serve
It’s not where you’re at but what direction you’re going in

2.   Gather information

What do you need to know in order to do what you want to do?
We learn from personal experience and other people’s experience
Learn from the winners and losers – Listen, ask questions, and observe

3.   Learn how to change

Begin with the end in mind.
Ask, “Why don’t I have that?” and keep asking until the answer is simply an action step
The answer to each question will give you your step-by-step goals for your objective
Work harder on you than you do your business
Find a mentor who has become who you want to become
Three areas: Physical, Mental & Spiritual – They all play a part
Master discipline – Be accountable

4.   Be financially wise – Live below your means

Know your income and your outgo
Disperse money into 4 categories:
70% Expenses, 10% charity, 10% investment, 10% savings
Don’t pay bills and then save; save and then pay bills
You never save money when your bank account goes down

5.   Master your time – Start with major priorities (Non-negotiables)

Either you run your day, or your day will run you
Finish the day before you start it
Learn to say no – often
Think on paper – journal,  project book, calendar
Learn to shut off your phone and get off social media for X time a day

6.   Choose friends and associates carefully

Do they help you or hurt you, encourage you, or discourage you?
Best to be the dumbest in the group – but only at the beginning

7.   Learn to live well

Want what you have and have what you want
Be happy with what you have while pursuing what you want
Do something special or out of the ordinary once a month.
